Robust is an engineering company specialising in the recycling of expanded polymers e.g. expanded polystyrene (EPS). The company is based in Ebbw Vale, South Wales. Robust has become the only accredited re-processor of expanded polystyrene in Wales.
Robust is one of the largest recyclers of polystyrene in the UK, recycling in excess of 250 tonnes per month. If one considers that an articulated lorry contains less than half a tonne of non-compacted polystyrene, then the contents of approximately 500 articulated lorries per month are diverted from landfill and instead are converted to a valuable resource.
